Gavin Mascarenhas

A bit about me.

Almost 12 years in product design and management for SaaS, B2B, and consumer applications. Self-taught from the beginning with core experience in creating and scaling successful web products. The last few years were in the life sciences and publishing industry which meant designing strong and proven UX workflows for specialists.

My experience ranges from small web apps to large-scale applications, often with layers of complexity. The work saw users from day-to-day consumers to specialised back-office users.

My recent work in the life sciences space saw me working with quantitative data from scientific researchers and data scientists, where representation of such data was crucial to product success.

Along with this, I have provided guidance for junior members of the team, helping them develop the skills to improve and find their path in product design.

I am looking for a role, in any sector, that deals with data-heavy applications, where outcomes are measured and go on to guide the next stage in the process. With the rapid advancements in AI, I want to work in teams that use AI-assisted workflows to reach a better product.

Data-heavy products SaaS B2B Measurable outcomes AI workflows

Photography, especially film photography, has been my hobby for a long time. I shoot landscapes and portraits on both 35mm and 120mm, and handle the post-processing by myself when I can.

I also experiment with AI in UX workflows and daily tasks. This site has been created with assistance from Claude. I ask it to show me how to implement changes and I use my IDE to make the same.

Quantum Computing. Once we get there, the Information Age ends and the Quantum Age begins. Computing and workflows, as we know it, will change and I particularly look forward to the advancements in science and technology that would be made possible with Quantum Computing.
