Gavin Mascarenhas

A bit about me.

Spent about 12 years in product design and management, creating small web apps for day-to-day consumers to large scale platforms for niche end users in the SaaS, B2B, and consumer space. Self-taught from the beginning with core experience in creating and scaling successful web products. Recent experience was spent in handling big, quantitative data for dashboards and manuscript submission platforms for the medical publishing and life sciences industry.

A good chunk of experience was also spent on design team management and growth, by providing guidance and helping the team develop skills to take on work independently with minimal interference.

In search for a role that involves understanding and breaking down data and user behaviour to come up with user flows that achieve their use cases with minimal friction. My metrics are based on ease-of-use for the end user and product satisfaction with the task flows and end-goal achievability.

Taking pictures, both digitally and on film, is an enjoyable past time for me. Cooking and trying my best to stay fit take up a good part of my free time too. I also play around with AI and use it as a tool for work and anything in between.

Retro tech and the life lived back then gets me talking. You can find stuff from back then all over my place, not limited to old magazines, vinyls, tape decks and books. Along with music and movies, a good conversation can be had.
